Diddly Days: Tours around Jeremy Clarkson’s Attractions!

Nestled in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm is anything but your typical countryside retreat. Stretching across 1,000 acres of picturesque landscape, this farm isn’t just a labor of love—it’s a battleground of nature, farming, and, of course, Clarkson’s unyielding determination to do things his way.

What started as a simple venture has grown into something far more complex. You’ve seen the highs and lows—stubborn sheep, unpredictable weather, and the trials of farming that often turn into laughable misadventures. But this farm is more than just a backdrop for chaos; it’s become a beacon of British farming culture and resilience.

At the heart of it all is the Diddly Squat Farm Shop, a place where the fruits of Clarkson’s labor are proudly displayed. This isn’t your average farm shop—here you’ll find products that are as unique as the man himself. From honey and milk to specially branded merchandise, every item on these shelves carries the essence of this land and the toil that goes into every jar, bottle, and pack of seeds. And let’s not forget about the “Cow Juice”—the farm’s own milk, as fresh as it gets, straight from the happiest cows in the Cotswolds.

The farm shop’s success speaks volumes, but Clarkson isn’t one to rest on his laurels. An expansion is in the works, with plans to offer even more locally sourced products, all while keeping true to the farm’s ethos of sustainability and home-grown excellence.

Now, let’s shift gears to one of Clarkson’s most ambitious undertakings yet: his very own brewery. Amidst the challenges of farming, Clarkson has ventured into the world of brewing, crafting beers that capture the essence of the English countryside. The brewery, located right on the farm, uses locally sourced ingredients, including hops that Clarkson personally oversees.

The result? A range of beers that are as bold and unapologetic as Clarkson himself. Whether it’s a crisp ale or a robust lager, each bottle is a testament to the land from which it was born. And just like the farm shop, Clarkson’s brewery is all about authenticity—these are beers with a story, brewed with passion, and made to be enjoyed with a knowing nod to the effort behind every drop.

The site also boasts its very own bar, the Hawkstone Arms, which offers regular tasting sessions.

The Farmer’s Dog Pub

Owned by TV personality Jeremy Clarkson, the recently opened Farmer’s Dog pub is situated in Asthall, near Burford.

The pub stocks a selection of Hawkstone beers and ciders, as well as having a dining area serving British food – some of which is made using produce from the Diddly Squat Farm.

Diddly Squat Farm Shop

The brainchild of TV personality Jeremy Clarkson, Diddly Squat is a working farm with a farm shop selling goods produced on-site and from local suppliers.

All-weather table seating is available in the lambing barn and outside the cafe.

But Clarkson’s vision doesn’t stop at the farm’s gates. Just down the road, a new chapter is being written at the Windmill pub near Burford. This isn’t just a pub; it’s set to be a community hub, a place where locals and visitors alike can come together to enjoy the best of what the Cotswolds has to offer.

The Farmer’s Dog pub has undergone a transformation, one that has fulfilled a promise to retain its historic charm while infusing it with the modern, lively spirit that Clarkson brings to all his endeavors. The renovations respect the building’s heritage, but expect a few surprises—Clarkson’s not one to do things by the book. The vision includes not only a top-notch dining experience but also a showcase of local beers—perhaps even a few brewed just up the road at Diddly Squat.

The aim is to create a space where stories are shared over a pint, where the community can gather, and where visitors can get a true taste of the Cotswolds, both in flavor and atmosphere.

Jeremy Clarkson’s journey from television presenter to farmer and now brewer and publican is a testament to his relentless pursuit of challenges. The farm, the brewery, and the Farmers Dog pub are all connected by a common thread: a deep respect for the land and a desire to share its bounty with others. As Clarkson continues to break new ground—literally and figuratively—one thing is certain: his Cotswolds ventures are here to stay, enriching the community and putting Diddly Squat Farm firmly on the map.
